About
MLB Analytics Built Around Data, Not Hype
Baseball is a game of probabilities. Even the best hitters in the world fail far more often than they succeed, and no player prop outcome can ever be guaranteed.
DingerDash was created to help baseball fans, fantasy players, DFS enthusiasts, and sports analytics users better understand MLB matchups through data-driven research. Instead of relying on hype, opinions, or trends alone, DingerDash organizes player statistics, matchup information, and performance indicators into an easy-to-use baseball analytics platform.
Our mission is simple: provide meaningful baseball insights that help users better understand the factors behind player performance.
What is DingerDash?
DingerDash is an independent MLB analytics platform focused on hitter performance, player prop research, and matchup analysis. Each day it evaluates available MLB matchups and players on the current slate using a probability model that considers factors including:
- Recent hitter performance
- Power metrics and quality of contact
- Opposing pitcher tendencies
- Ballpark characteristics
- Weather conditions
- Lineup position
- Batter vs. pitcher history when meaningful sample sizes exist
A "dinger" is baseball slang for a home run. DingerDash is not affiliated with DoorDash, Fingerdash, Geometry Dash, or any unrelated company, product, or service.

How the DingerDash model works
DingerDash combines multiple statistical factors to create player matchup analysis.
Batter performance
The model evaluates offensive factors such as exit velocity, barrel rate, isolated power (ISO), home run frequency, and recent performance trends.
Pitcher matchup
The model considers pitching factors such as home runs allowed per nine innings (HR/9), pitch-type tendencies, handedness matchups, and expected offensive production allowed.
Ballpark & weather factors
Environmental conditions may influence offensive outcomes. DingerDash considers historical ballpark characteristics, temperature, wind conditions, and game environment.
Batter vs. pitcher history
Historical batter-pitcher matchups may be included when sufficient sample sizes exist. These matchups are treated as a supporting factor and are not used as the sole basis for analysis.

Frequently asked
- What is DingerDash?
- DingerDash is an independent MLB analytics platform focused on hitter performance, player prop research, and matchup analysis. Each day it evaluates available MLB matchups and players on the current slate using a probability model that considers batter performance, pitcher tendencies, ballpark factors, weather, lineup position, and batter vs. pitcher history when meaningful sample exists. It is not affiliated with DoorDash, Fingerdash, Geometry Dash, or any other similarly named brand — a 'dinger' is baseball slang for a home run.
- Is DingerDash free?
- Daily rankings, game information, lineups, and the leaderboard are free to use with no signup required. The AI Coach chat is available as a free preview (5 messages per session) — a paid unlimited version is coming soon.
- How does the model work?
- The model combines four groups of statistical factors: (1) batter performance — exit velocity, barrel rate, ISO, HR frequency, and recent trends, (2) opposing pitcher — HR/9, pitch-type tendencies, handedness matchups, and expected offensive production allowed, (3) ballpark and weather — historical park characteristics, temperature, and wind conditions, and (4) batter vs. pitcher history, treated as a supporting factor only when sufficient sample exists. Rankings refresh throughout the day as new information becomes available.
- Where does the data come from?
- DingerDash uses baseball statistics, game information, and analytical inputs from publicly available MLB data sources, including the MLB Stats API. Park factors are derived internally from multi-season batted-ball data. Weather is pulled from a public weather API for the venue. DingerDash is not an official partner of Major League Baseball and is not affiliated with MLB. Any odds information displayed is for informational and analytical purposes only.
- How accurate is it?
- Sports outcomes are unpredictable. Home runs are inherently low-probability events (roughly 3-6% per plate appearance for the best power hitters). Statistical models can identify trends, probabilities, and historical patterns, but they cannot guarantee results. DingerDash's model is designed to rank hitters by relative probability on a given day, not to guarantee outcomes. Historical grading is public on the Leaderboard and History pages.
